Your to-do list is long, your dreams are big. You feel energised and can’t wait to get working.
And then life happens.
We have to change and adjust our plans constantly. This can be draining, exhausting, and – quite frankly – incredibly frustrating. (*tired sigh)
That is why I want to offer you an alternative way to look at your goals with a mindset that will set you up for success – especially on those days when nothing seems to be working out.
There are five areas that are crucial to working towards achieving your goals, there are probably more, but these have made the biggest positive impact on my own journey, starting and growing my social impact business from scratch.
I hope these episodes will inspire you, not only to set your ambitious goals but to actually reach them – no matter what life throws at you. All you have to do is listen. The rest will follow.
The words that we choose to speak to ourselves and the ones that others use when they interact with us are powerful.
When Maya Angelou describes the importance of recognising the rainbows amongst our clouds, you can not help but look for those colourful lines on your horizon too, even on the particularly frustrating days.
As you listen all the way to the end you will uncover the essential driver of what lies beneath all those goals you set out to achieve.
Have you given yourself a big hug lately? Listening to this short episode will make you feel all warm inside.
Achieving our goals is impossible if we aren’t kind to ourselves. It’s all too easy to neglect self-care as we are keeping busy ticking all those boxes on our to-do lists. This episode is a great reminder that compassion is the fuel that will move us closer to where we want to go and who we want to become.
Our goals come with a timestamp. Due by – insert day. Done by – ideally yesterday.
We do our best to manage our calendar, squeezing in our quarterly and yearly targets into a schedule that makes us feel dizzy. Listening to Oliver and Krista will empower you to strip away the label we put on our own time management and get to the bottom of what truly matters.
As you listen, you might just exhale a breath of relief.
Oh, don’t we all just want to be more productive?
Instead of the next productivity hack, Laura offers an alternative way to look at productivity by sharing her first memory of it.
This will inspire you to reflect on all the things you have learned about productivity over the years. The things you tried and implemented to be more productive, to reach your goals – faster. As you listen you can’t help but wonder, are we all just being way too hard on ourselves?
Your story is unique. Your way of experiencing the world and making sense of it all is part of the story you are writing every single day. Sometimes we doubt that our story matters, that it is not worth telling. But it is our story that has brought us to this day in the first place. The day we decided to go after all those ambitious goals in the first place.
Listen to this if you need a motivation boost because award-winning journalist Angie Lau will set you right up to go after your goals courageously and to define your own rules of the game.
