Based in Hong Kong, #impact Podcast launched on Apple Podcasts in February 2017. Founded by Austrian native Regina Larko, #impact raises awareness for the work of social enterprises, charities, NGOs and individuals that give back to society.
#impact Podcast marries two passions in Regina’s life: audio and purpose-driven work. As an audio enthusiast, Regina has always loved how intimate the medium of audio felt, with listening creating pictures in her head instantly.
Having worked in the NGO sector, she is well aware of the unsung heroes and the lack of media attention on the great work that is being done. Regina was frustrated with the way stories in the social impact sector were often portrayed in a very grim way. The topics impact organisations and businesses address are indeed serious – from environmental pollution, to human rights violations, from the sacrifices and hardships of underprivileged and forgotten communities here in Hong Kong and globally, to discrimination and inequality – but Regina thought there must be a way to share these stories with a focus on positivity and progress.
On #impact Podcast, Regina tells impactful stories in a light, refreshing and inspirational way, without keeping the cause and the pressing issues out of sight but allowing listeners to feel inspired by the individuals that Regina and her co-hosts sit down with, empowering everyone who cares to try making little changes in their life.
In intimate audio interviews that are released on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Android and the #impact Website bi-weekly, #impact Podcast portrays individuals making a positive impact in the world, finds out why and how they got started, what keeps them going and what were the challenges along the way.
With these interviews, #impact sheds a light on changemakers and supports them to find new volunteers and donors who want to engage in the causes that are discussed on the show.
