When I look back at the first season of #impact Podcast, there were so many beautiful moments that made me smile. Sometimes I would even laugh out loud.

Leading up to the Season 2 kick-off I want to share happy, fun moments interviewing changemakers featured in Season 1, working in diverse fields but all with a vision to change people’s lives for the better. Enjoy!

  1. “I did not even know it grows like that!”

That moment, when I realized how an Aubergine grows while interviewing the wonderful Pol Fàbrega, Co-Founder of Rooftop Republic at one of their Flagship Farms on top of Hong Kong Fringe Club is hands-down THE funniest moment of Season 1 for me. I am so glad I got that on tape.

After our interview, Pol led me up to the roof. I took a walk through the gorgeous rooftop garden and kept recording when I took a better look at the plant in front of me…that grew – to my huge surprise- AN AUBERGINE! How embarrassing that I did not know how an aubergine grows, but it only proved Pol’s point: city dwellers (Regina!!!)  need to be more educated about their food.

Rooftop Republic sets out to revolutionise our food system, and they are doing so with great success. This passionate urban farmer taught me a lot about food and how everyone can join in by voting with the fork. Pol gave me some mint seedlings on the way, that I started grooming on my balcony. Unfortunately, it did not end well for the mint, so I definitely need to sign up for one of Rooftop Republic’s urban farming courses asap.
