People often overlook self-love and do not realize how significant it is in their lives.
Regina Larko, host of #impact Podcast, sat down with Cola Paclibar, Founder of Good Vibes Only Movement (GVOM) to hear about her moving story of deviating depression into hopefulness and how this time in her life gave her the push to start the Good Vibes Only Movement.
IN THIS EPISODE, YOU LEARN ABOUT…
- The importance of self-care and self-love
- How to refocus one’s attention on the good, rather than the bad
- The direct impact of reaching out and giving out positive energy to people who need them the most
- The value of forming a safe space for people through content sharing
Turning her black hole into a safe space
In 2013, Cola Paclibar found herself in a really dark place, struggling with depression and consumed in her sadness. She felt lost, with no direction and with no inkling on how to help herself. One day, she woke up with the realization that she didn’t want to feel that way anymore.
She took incessant small steps forward; she learned to value herself more. She constantly told herself, “I got this.” And she did get it. The small steps led to saving herself from depression and even creating a positive content social media platform.
Good Vibes Only Movement as a community and a platform
Good Vibes Only Movement is aimed to spread contagious energy and positivity. Creating a community speaking the language of self-love, they share incredible features of people whom others can learn so much from.
An advocate of constructive self-criticism
They believe that we are our biggest critics. We become so conscious of what we say to someone else but we talk ourselves down so easily. GVOM also runs workshops. Through physical workshops, they aim to have a direct impact on people, to reach out and touch their hearts.
A moment Cola will always take with her
Last January, the Good Vibes Only Movement went to a non-profit school in the Philippines to work with children in a mission called “Helping Hands Race.” When they saw the smiles and heard the laughter of the children, they knew how important it is to offer happiness to those who need it.
Spreading positivity and contagious energy
“If I could make as many people feel good as I’ve made myself feel good, if I could use what I made out of the one for self-love and turn to selflessness, if I could just create a safe space to be real, to show people what is real, then by all means, I should.” Cola Paclibar
Lifting each other up
Cola and her team created a space for people to lift each other up, to boost, support, and inspire. They encourage all of us to live with good vibes.
