If I would have only known her then, in that year of my big search. When I spoke to Sue Toomey in Episode 1 of #impact Podcast she shared a very moving story about herself and how she made the move from a corporate career into the NGO space.
But one day, before even hearing those powerful words, I did exactly what she said.
At least this is how I keep telling people when they ask me how I got going with my Podcast “ I just started.”
But the more I think about it and reflect on that process that lead me from a smoggy lunch break in Beijing to starting my Podcast years later, I understand that what I was really doing was…
That’s when magic started happening.
That’s when I reached out to my very first Podcast guests and that’s when I sat down for my very first recording. A recording where Sue shared how she found the courage to change her careers after thinking about what her 20 year older self would say to her today.
This was the first recording I did for my Podcast, needless to say, I was so nervous, too busy constantly checking recording levels. But when she shared the story about that letter she wrote to herself, my heart stopped. I got goosebumps all over my body and it resonated so much that I sat down to write a letter to my younger self that very day. And I keep writing and collecting these letters to myself as a reminder for the journey that brought me to this moment.
